Birthday Wishes

Today was a most excellent day. Aside from the fact that the pollution is getting thicker and thicker and my lungs are in distress, I had a fabulous birthday. My department took me out to dinner at a local place for goat and some potato like vegetable and BEER! It was most excellent and I have now learned how to properly eat the goat with a toothpick including a nice dunk in the spice which shames Indian spice in terms of spice temperature.

Tomorrow is dancing which I am thrilled about. Ah to be another year older...for those readers older than me I know it is irritating coming from someone younger than you but seriously...I am getting old. The day has come when 2 beers feels like 20, 10 minutes at the gym feels like 100, and the overall bodily plumbing seems to be deteriorating. It is quite a revelation when you realize that you have been out of high school for close to 20 years and you are getting further from the high life of 21-25 years old.

On a high note, I will still cheers you with a beer and will suffer the rest of the weekend by staying out until 2am tomorrow night...2 am is the bewitching hour for our UN colleagues so I know I will be home by 2:30!

I hear that Congo is making the news in some places. Don't you worry, I am on the security committee ... and after my experience in Cairo ... any issues here will be like having piece of cake on my birthday!
